Why is there so much enthusiasm to attend a WordCamp?
Attending a WordCamp is an experience that goes far beyond the technical. Here are some reasons why there is always so much eagerness to participate in these events:
Learning for All Levels
It doesn’t matter if you are just starting out with WordPress or if you are already an expert. The talks and workshops cover everything from the basics to the most advanced topics. You always take away something new to apply to your projects, whether in web development, design, or marketing.
Connecting with Amazing People
Meeting others who use WordPress, making contacts, sharing ideas, and perhaps finding future collaborators or friends. It’s a super social event filled with opportunities to expand your professional network!
Collaborative Environment
The collaborative spirit is one of the greatest strengths of WordCamps. Here, everyone is willing to help, share their experiences, and lend a hand. The connections formed at these events are lasting and valuable.
Inspiration Everywhere
You leave with your head full of new ideas. Between talks, workshops, and spontaneous conversations, you soak up energy and creativity. These events are an endless source of inspiration to apply to your WordPress projects.
Discovering the City
Attending a WordCamp is not just about learning; it’s also the perfect excuse to explore the location. In this case, Pontevedra! You take the opportunity to get to know the city while you learn and network.
Josep Morán’s Talk
One of the most talked-about moments was the talk by our colleague Josep Morán, who shared his inspiring journey from “Carpenter to Hosting Manager.” His story was not only motivational but also a demonstration of how the WordPress community offers opportunities for personal and professional growth.
You can’t miss it! You can watch it in full on WordPress.tv “from carpenter to Hosting Manager thanks to WordPress”.
Consulting: A Restyling with Sonia Díaz Canosa
At the last WordCamp Pontevedra 2024, we had the opportunity to learn how to give a fresh look to our websites thanks to the consulting of Sonia Díaz Canosa, a recognized expert in web design.
During her talk, Sonia took us step by step through the restyling process, explaining how to transform an outdated website into a modern and functional platform.
Highlights of the Presentation:
- Keys to making changes that impact the website’s functionality.
- Tips for simplifying navigation and making it more intuitive.
- Strategies for adapting sites to mobile navigation, which is increasingly essential in the digital environment.
- Practical examples, including our website wetopi.com and success stories that inspired many attendees.
Thanks to Sonia, those who attended her talk left with a lot of ideas, and we got a proposal for the restyling of our website! And tools to apply effective restyling in their own projects, improving both the appearance and results of their websites.

Couldn’t Attend? No Worries!
If you couldn’t make it to WordCamp Pontevedra 2024, don’t worry. WordPress.tv is your best ally. On this platform, you can find summaries and recordings of the main talks, workshops, and presentations that took place during the event. It’s an excellent way to catch up on everything that happened, from the latest developments in web development to digital marketing strategies.
Remember that WordCamp is not just about being physically present; the WordPress community is everywhere, and this is a way to continue connecting with it.
The Return of Unconferences!
One of the most anticipated moments of WordCamp Pontevedra 2024 was the return of the Unconferences. If you’ve never attended one, let me explain: they are more dynamic and spontaneous sessions than traditional talks, where attendees become the protagonists.
The interesting thing about Unconferences is that there is no rigid script or established speakers. The topics are chosen democratically, based on proposals from the attendees, making each session unique and enriching.
A Booklet with Questions for the Sponsors
One of the most interesting innovations was the distribution of a booklet with questions for the sponsors at their booths. This initiative aimed to encourage interaction between attendees and sponsors, turning conversations into something more productive.
Food and Drink Shouldn’t Be Lacking
You might leave wanting more talks, but you definitely won’t go hungry or thirsty! At WordCamp Pontevedra 2024, food was one of the main attractions, making each break a perfect moment to recharge and keep connecting with other attendees.
With juicy barbecue, Galician octopus, traditional empanadas, typical sweets, and drinks for all tastes, the gastronomy not only kept attendees energized but also created the perfect atmosphere to continue networking in a relaxed and informal manner.

What do we want to reflect with all of this?
- attention to detail
- search for quality
- consistency and responsibility
- In short, to incorporate part of our principles into the swag
In Pontevedra, They Know How to Play the Bagpipe: Wajari Velsáquez and His Epic Performance
In the midst of talks and workshops, Wajari Velsáquez surprised us with an epic performance playing the bagpipe. This Galician instrument sounded strong, creating a unique atmosphere and reminding us of the importance of integrating local culture into a global event like WordCamp.
Wajari’s performance was a magical moment, showcasing how tradition and technology can coexist at such a modern event. Learning, culture, and community! If you couldn’t attend, we hope to see you in Granada!
