We bid farewell to an exciting cycle of WordCamps with WordCamp Griñón 2024, an event focused on eCommerce.
As a member of the Wetopi marketing team, a Professional WordPress Hosting provider, I believe it was a great decision to organize a WordPress event focused on digital commerce during the key annual sales period, when eCommerce businesses achieve a significant percentage of their total revenue..
This is the perfect time to learn how to develop effective strategies, stay up-to-date with the latest trends, and apply them during the most critical time of the year. It’s a must-attend event for those who want to optimize their business, stand out in the market, and stay ahead in the future of eCommerce.

WordCamp Griñón 2024: The Journey’s End
The cycle of WordCamps across Spain ends on a high note. Similar to WordCamp Granada 2024, they hosted a vertical event exclusively dedicated to eCommerce.
Could It Be Any Better?
Here we see Maylén García, one of the leaders of the WordCamp Griñón 2024 organizing team, explaining the strategy to her team like a football coach. Often, we aren’t aware of the effort and dedication that goes into organizing an event of this scale.
Everyone gives their best to ensure that attendees enjoy the talks, workshops, and a well-organized space for networking, while also engaging with the event sponsors.
How to Improve Your ECommerce: Practical and Easy-to-Apply Workshops
High-value talks and workshops that are easy to apply in eCommerce. If you haven’t implemented some of the advice prepared by the speakers for this occasion, don’t miss the chance to do so!
A total of 21 talks and workshops were distributed across two spaces, creating opportunities for networking while moving between locations. Among them, Pablo Moratinos’s talk on maximizing the potential of your PDPs (Product Detail Pages) stood out.
The workshop by Ana Cirujano generated incredible synergy with the audience during her session on responsive design for eCommerce.
Meanwhile, Wajari demonstrated the importance of advanced linking and tracking in eCommerce. I could go on, but you probably already know that all sessions are available on WordPress.tv.
Networking from Different Perspectives
At Wetopi, we’ve always valued networking as a key tool for connecting with attendees, organizers, and volunteers at every WordCamp we attend, whether as sponsors, speakers, or participants.
WordCamp Griñón 2024 provided a conducive environment for diverse networking, bringing together multiple perspectives. The eCommerce sector is a vital component of Spain’s business fabric, and the WordPress community is well aware of its importance.
This event facilitated meetings between various sectors linked to eCommerce, fostering the exchange of ideas and synergy creation. Knowing how to implement the insights shared by top specialists in the talks and workshops can make a difference.
Contributor Day, Talks, and Contribution: A Winning Combination
The Contributor Day for this WordPress event was held on Sunday, but before diving into contribution, David Pérez delivered an insightful talk about how the global WordPress plugin team operates, most of whose members, including David himself, are part of the Spanish WordPress community.
Following the talk, several contribution tables were set up, where many attendees from Saturday actively participated, contributing or learning how to contribute to one of the WordPress community teams.
Noteworthy were the contribution tasks of the WordPress.tv team, who uploaded all the videos to the platform during the Contributor Day. Speaking of WordPress.tv!
The WordPress.tv Spain Team: Always Leading Globally
Sometimes we don’t give them enough recognition, as they usually don’t get mentioned in post-WordCamp articles. Now that there are no more WordCamps to cover, I want to give a special shoutout to this hardworking and effective team.
For instance, during WordCamp Griñón 2024, over 1,500 photos and 20 video recordings were taken on Saturday alone, including talks, presentations, and closing ceremonies.
Team members like Nilo, Paco, Fede, and others operate like a well-oiled machine.
Not only are they excellent, but they are also incredibly fast—everything mentioned was uploaded before dinner to the platform flickr.com.
A high-quality teamwork effort that delivers images like the ones you can see here 😜.
Conclusion
With the conclusion of the WordCamp cycle in 2024, we’ve observed a trend toward more specialized and diverse events.
Examples include WordCamp Griñón 2024, focused exclusively on eCommerce, WordCamp Granada tackling tourism sector topics, or the WordPress Diversity Day in Valencia, dedicated to promoting inclusion in the community, along with the Contributor event in Seville.
These events reflect the Spanish WordPress community’s commitment to adapting to changing sector needs and fostering diversity and specialization in their gatherings.
We hope this trend continues next year with the usual creativity and ingenuity of the organizers.
